2016 Textbook Scholarship
28 October 2016For more than 33 years, the SDA has been providing textbook scholarships for SDA members and their children.
And Now, SDA members grandchildren are also eligible.
These scholarships can be used to purchase the textbooks and stationary prescribed in school booklists.
With the ever-increasing cost of education, and the need for higher qualifications, this assistance is now more important than ever.
Your chances of winning are great-no work, just enter and you could win.
To apply, you must be a financial member of the SDA or the child or grandchild of a financial member of the SDA, studying at any Secondary College in Years 10, 11 or 12 in 2017, or enrolled in any course at any Tertiary Institution in 2017.
The $150 scholarship can be used to purchase new or second-hand textbooks or stationery.
Proof of purchase must be provided (photocopies of invoices or reciepts are acceptable).
Secondary and Tertiary scholarship students may purchase their textbooks or stationery from any source and pay for the goods first, then send the claim form with proof of purchase to the SDA.
Please note: Only one application per student will be accepted.
One scholarship only will be awarded to each winner.
One scholarship only will be awarded per SDA member (i.e. only for the member or one of their children or grandchildren).
SDA employees are ineligible to enter.
This application will be subject to a ballot conducted by the State Council of the SDA and by entering you agree to accept as final the result of such ballot.
Secondary scholarship should be redeemed by February 2017 and a Tertiary scholarship should be redeemed by mid 2017 if possible

Camp Gallipoli 2016
15 April 2016The SDA is proud to be giving away tickets to attend 2016’s Camp Gallipoli – where you can camp under the stars with your family and friends, and join in a special opportunity for us all to learn, to remember, to reflect and to sleep out under the stars as the original ANZACs did over one hundred years ago.
Camp Gallipoli is an important opportunity for Australians and New Zealanders to come together as part of the four-year centenary period and the birth of the ANZAC Spirit.
There will be entertainment, special guests, movies, documentaries, great food options, and a very special Dawn Service on ANZAC Day itself.
Camp Gallipoli is fully supported by the ANZAC Centenary Committee, the Federal Education Department, RSL and Legacy.

WHO: Those 15 years of age and under must have their own ticket and be accompanied by a parent/guardian, or be part of a community group under adult supervision.
