The primary role of the SDA is to look  after the industrial needs of its members through advice, representation and protection. The SDA employs a team of experienced and qualified people to do this. Members of the SDA can receive advice and assistance on any workplace issue.

 

$150 Education Assistance Scholarship

Each year the SDA offers, by ballot, 800 education assistance scholarships to financial SDA members or their children or grandchildren who are senior secondary or tertiary students.

Scholarships are worth $150 each and application forms are published in The SDA Union News Journal or on the SDA Victoria Website in the competitions section.

Special Giveaway Competitions

Each year, the SDA gives members the opportunity to enter a vast array of free to enter competitions for special giveaways. These can include experiences such as the Zoo, Luna Park, Adventure Park or vouchers for fuel, Visa gift cards or even a Playstation, Xbox and much more!

To enter these competitions, financial SDA members will see these competitions either in the SDA Union News journal or they may enter the competition in the competitions section of the SDA Victoria website.

Adult Age = Adult Wage

The SDA is taking a historic case to the Fair Work Commission to end junior pay rates for workers 18 and older and to increase pay for most workers under 18. We’re taking aim at age discrimination so adults are paid fair wages.
