For over than 40 years, the SDA has proudly supported members and their families with the rising cost of education.

As education expenses continue to grow - and pop up throughout the year - the Union remains committed to easing the burden.

That's why we're continuing our long-standing support to help members and their families access the education they deserve.

Our education assistance payments are worth up to $200, making a significant contribution to the academic needs of our members and their families.

Our education assistance payment structure is as follows: 

• 200 Students from Year 1 to Year 9 will receive education assistance payment of up to $75^
• 300 Secondary Students will receive education assistance payment of up to $150^
• 300 Tertiary Students will receive education assistance payment of up to $200^

It's easy to enter, and your chances of winning are excellent, 800 members will win.

Conditions of Entry: 

To apply, you must be a paid-up member of the SDA and are a:

• parent of grandparent applying for their child or grandchild.
• student at any Primary School or Secondary College in Years 1-12 in 2025.
• student enrolled in a Tertiary Institution in 2025

The educational assistance payment can be used to purchase:

• educational supplies, including textbooks, stationery*
• e-books, computer devices, educational subscriptions and other supplies*

*Proof of purchase must be provided.

Primary, Secondary and Tertiary students may purchase:

• their education supplies from any source and pay for the goods first, then send the claim form with proof of purchase to the SDA.

Notification of Winners:

The ballot will be conducted after the close of applications. Winners will be notified by mail as soon as possible after the ballot. All winners' names will be published on our website.

Disclaimer:

Only one application is allowed per SDA member. Each successful applicant will receive one assistance payment only. The SDA will determine what qualifies as educational supplies, and this decision is final. SDA employees and their family members are not eligible to enter.

*Course fees and student union fees are excluded.

^Photocopies of invoices or receipts are acceptable.
