Better Pay

 

Every year, the SDA advocates for an increase in the minimum wage during the Government's Annual Wage Review. Our goal is to secure the highest possible wage increase for workers. In 2023, in collaboration with the Australian Council of Trade Unions, we achieved a 5.75% increase to the Award wage. In 2024, we successfully secured a 3.75% increase. These wage increases benefit many workers, including numerous SDA members.

Additionally, the SDA engages in enterprise bargaining to secure wages that exceed the Award rate for our members. The strength of our position at the bargaining table is directly influenced by the membership of workers at the workplace we represent. Your union membership is vital in helping the SDA negotiate the best possible wages for yourself and other workers we support.
