3.5% Wage Increase
The Fair Work Commission’s Annual Wage Review (AWR) has delivered a 3.5% minimum wage increase following strong union submissions for real pay rises. Thanks to the SDA and the union movement, workers will see a real wage increase.
Superannuation Increase
Your employer’s compulsory superannuation contribution to your super fund will increase from 11.5% to 12%. This is part of a decades-long, union-led campaign to improve retirement outcomes for working people.
Paid Parental Leave Boost
Paid parental leave entitlements are increasing from 22 weeks to 24 weeks. This delivers much-needed support for workers balancing work and family responsibilities.
Super on Paid Parental Leave
Superannuation will now be paid on paid parental leave—a major step toward closing the retirement gap, improving long-term financial security.
Accident Insurance Improvements
Key improvements to the SDA’s free Accident Insurance policy include a higher maximum payout (increasing from $83,000 to $112,000), increased injury benefits, and a new $1,000 payment for unprovoked workplace assault. These changes offer stronger protection for injuries outside the workplace.
These increases are important wins for SDA members—delivered through your union membership and support.
