The SDA employs a number of qualified staff to look after members' work-related entitlements as set down in various Awards and Agreements and Acts of Parliament.
Entitlements may include:
- Sick leave
- Penalty Rates
- Health & safety standards
- Annual leave
The SDA can advise you of your entitlements and, if necessary, obtain them from your employer, as well as keeping you informed about any changes to industrial relations laws that may affect you.
The SDA's experienced team of Organisers visit workplaces to listen and respond to the concerns of members and assist them in their disputes with employers.
Additionally, our team of Information Officers provide an expert phone advice and referral service to members who phone the SDA.
Where required, our specialist team of Research, Equity, Health & Safety and WorkCover Officers based in our office will provide the necessary advocacy at various tribunals and dispute resolution forums.
